The overall goal is to save King Dedede who has been stolen by a six armed minion of Queen Sectonia, a baddie wants to reck havoc on Dreamland.
A "2D" side scroller, this is a standard Kirby game with a lot of great power-ups and interesting/fun uses of the 3D effect, such as hoping back and forth between the front and the back of the screen and bosses that travel between the planes. Players help Kirby as he attempts to rescue the kidnapped King Dedede, jumping from the foreground to the background and ingesting all manner of objects in a variety of side-scrolling levels.
